Encryption is the product
It isn’t a mode you switch on. Chats are end-to-end encrypted by default. If we can’t protect a message, we don’t send it in the clear.

Private conversations should stay private.
And people should still be able to reach each other when the network is gone. That is why Kastia exists. Pigeon is how we do it.
Mission
A messenger we can’t read, that still works when the towers don’t.
Most apps ask you to trust the company with the conversation. We don’t. Messages are locked on your device before they leave it. We carry sealed envelopes. We never get a spare key, and we don’t want one.
The other half of the mission is the day the network isn’t there. A festival where the cell site gives up. A park with no data. An emergency where the usual path is the first thing to fail. Nearby moves the same locked messages over Bluetooth, through people who also have it on.

No audience to perform for
Pigeon is for people you choose. No public feed, no ads, and no business that depends on reading or selling your conversations.
Nearby stays yours
Phones that relay a message only forward sealed bytes they can’t open. Nearby is not a map of strangers, and it is not a replacement for emergency services.
The product
One app. The same account on every device you sign in.
Chats, groups, photos, files, and calls. Look someone up and start. The same conversation follows the account, so a message on one signed-in device shows up on the others.
Windows is available today. iPhone, Android, and Mac are the same product as they ship, not a different app with a weaker lock.
How we protect youThe company
Kastia is small on purpose.
We make Pigeon. There is no office tour on this page and no staff directory. The work is the product, the privacy policy, and the terms.
This is a closed beta. It isn’t finished, and we don’t pretend otherwise. Features will change. If something feels off, tell us.
