Common questions
Can you read my messages?
No. Chats are locked on your device before they leave it. We don’t keep a spare key, so we can’t pull up a conversation, recover a forgotten message, or hand the text to anyone.
Why isn’t a chat on my other device?
Stay signed in to the same account on both, and open Pigeon on each one. A copy is sealed to every device that is still signed in. It shows up when that device is opened. Signing out and back in creates a new device and can miss the copy that was already sent.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings → Delete account and type your username. If you can’t open Pigeon, follow the account deletion steps or email us from the address on the account.
Where do I download Pigeon?
Windows is available now from the download section on the home page. iPhone, Android, and Mac are the same product as they ship. The Windows installer may show a SmartScreen warning until the build is signed.
Nearby didn’t reach the other person. What now?
Both of you need Nearby turned on, and you need to be close. Each hop is about a room, not a whole city. Other Pigeon phones in between can carry it further. Nearby is not a replacement for emergency services.
I can’t sign in.
Email [email protected] with the subject Help. Include your username, whether you’re on Windows or a phone, and what you saw. Don’t send a recovery phrase or a screenshot of a message.
Do you show ads or sell conversations?
No ads, no public feed, and no business that depends on reading what you send. Privacy isn’t a mode you switch on.
I found a security problem.
Email [email protected] with Security in the subject. Include steps to reproduce and the app version, and give us a chance to fix it before you post it publicly. How reports are handled.
